# Company Firmographic API Overview

> Identity, classification, and basic company facts

The akta.pro Company Firmographic API returns the `firmographic` section of the akta.pro company record as a standalone endpoint. Pass a company website domain or UUID in the path and get back just the `firmographic` payload — no other sections, no sections parameter to configure.

This is a **synchronous GET API**. Pass the company in the URL path and receive the firmographic payload immediately in the HTTP response. No polling required.

**The fields included in every response:**

| `name`                      | Display name                    |
| `legal_name`                | Registered legal name           |
| `website`                   | Primary website domain          |
| `company_type`              | Public, private, acquired, etc. |
| `founded_year`              | Year founded                    |
| `company_description`       | Long-form description           |
| `company_description_short` | Short description               |
| `operating_status`          | Operating status code + label   |
| `ownership_category`        | Ownership category code + label |
| `headcount_range`           | Headcount band, e.g. 1001-5000  |
| `headcount`                 | Headcount count if available    |
| `logo_url`                  | Hosted logo URL                 |
| `akta_rank`                 | Akta rank                       |

**Common use cases:**

* **CRM record population** : backfill name, website, founded year, headcount, and company type on a new lead or account record
* **Search-result enrichment** : annotate a list of companies with logo + one-line description for a search UI
* **Account scoring** : feed `founded_year`, `company_type`, and `ownership_category` into a scoring model without paying for unrelated sections
* **Display-name normalization** : resolve the registered `legal_name` versus the trading `name` for record deduplication
