# Company Peers API Overview

> Curated peer set for a single company in one call

The akta.pro Company Peers API returns the curated peer set for a single company. Pass a company website domain or UUID in the path and get back an array of peers — each tagged with a relationship type (`direct_peer`, `broad_incumbent`, `emerging_player`) and a one-paragraph description of why it competes with the requested company.

This is a **synchronous GET API**. Pass the company in the URL path and receive the peer list immediately in the HTTP response. No polling required.

**The fields included in every response:**

| Field   | What it contains                                                                                               |
| ------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `peers` | Array of peer companies. Each entry has `name`, `uuid`, `type: { code, label }`, and a `description` paragraph |
| `uuid`  | Akta UUID of the requested company, echoed back for cross-referencing                                          |

Each peer carries:

* `name` — display name
* `uuid` — Akta UUID; pass it to the Company Data API to enrich the peer further
* `type` — relationship bucket. `direct_peer` is a head-to-head competitor; `broad_incumbent` is a larger incumbent with overlapping surface area; `emerging_player` is a smaller entrant angling in
* `description` — one paragraph explaining the competitive angle

**Common use cases:**

* **Competitive landscape views** : build a "who competes with this company" panel from one call
* **Market-mapping tables** : drop the peer array into a row of a competitor matrix
* **Deal screening** : quickly spot whether an inbound prospect is already in the peer set of a target on your shortlist
* **CRM enrichment** : surface 3–5 peers on a company record so reps can position against named alternatives
